Christmas rose Linocut Print – Limited Edition

This month plant is Christmas rose - a controversial plant that was according to legends frequently prescribed by Hippocrates, the father of medicine. Maybe people where build different back then, because this plant is poisonous.

Hand carved and hand printed by me as always. I made this print using reduction linocut technique which basically means that I created all layers on the same piece of rubber and by the end of printing the rubber is carved empty.

It’s just impossible to reprint this art now.

Materials: Textured paper with grass fires 250g/m2

As part of my Monthly Print project, I create a small batch of linocut prints each month, inspired by plants that are in season or in bloom. Each print is signed, numbered, and never repeated, ensuring its uniqueness.

With your print, you’ll receive a personal letter from me with details about the plant of the month, its symbolism, and uses in culture, magic and medicine.
